S.O.S racismo Madrid is an association working to defend the rights of migrants and racialised people in Madrid. Since its creation it had used a variation of the logo most S.O.S racismo chapters use, an open hand signalling to "stop". I was approached by the association to modernise their look and create guidelines for future visual material. This project also included a logo redesign for "Esracismo", a S.O.S racismo Madrid web project that spotlights racism situations in Spain and Europe and looks to amplify migrant and racialised voices.
Initial sketches and final 3 proposals next to the original logo
The selected logo consists of a stylised S.O.S in the shape of an alarm sign as the association members wanted to keep an image that references the urgency of the situation of vulnerability lived by migrant and racialised collectives.
